概要	Increases in pH, salinity and aqueous ammonia near urea bands limit nitrification. Nitrification inhibitors were only effective beyond the zone impacted by urea bands. Soil characteristics impact nitrification inhibitor efficacy by influencing diffusion. Urease inhibitors mitigate pH, salinity and aqueous ammonia increases in urea bands. Urease inhibitors may permit greater and/or earlier nitrification of mineral N.
