Suzanne Quay is a Professor at International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan, specializing in child language and multilingualism. She was the guest editor in 2011 of ‘Trilingual Children in the Making: Data-driven insights’ for the International Journal of Multilingualism (IJM) and has also published in journals such as First Language, Journal of Child Language, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, and Deafness and Education International (DEI). She is on the Editorial Boards of IJM and DEI, reflecting an interest in multilingualism in both hearing and deaf communities. She is the co-author with Margaret Deuchar of Bilingual Acquisition: Theoretical Implications of a Case Study, published by Oxford University Press in 2000. Her teaching, which covers a wide range of courses in bilingualism, linguistics and language education, complements her current interests in family language policies, translanguaging practices and multilingualism across the lifespan.
